If you listened to my podcast when it was on RELM, you probably heard my frustration both on incoming and outgoing phone calls. People couldn’t hear us, we couldn’t hear them. The system required constant resetting, sometimes in the middle of a call. I got so frustrated, seeing lines ring and not answering them, as it would lead to yet another segment about the phones.
After leaving RELM, we started to deconstruct the studio they provided and rebuilding from scratch. We discovered the phone system they had sent out for our heavy use was a Telos 100. It’s the first unit in the picture above. IT WAS MANAFACTURED IN 1994. You can imagine the problems this old warhorse caused. We did not know the unit was 20 years old and not able to handle relatively simple tasks. Until we started to take things apart and saw this old, tired unit out of the rack.
When we contacted the Telos company, they laughed at the thought we would try to use a Telos 100 in 2014. After they stopped laughing, we upgraded to the top of the line 2014 model. It’s the second unit in the pic above.
We have a new phone number we’ll be revealing soon, along with a 24 hour feedback/message line for you guys to call in on.
Many of you have wondered what we’ve been doing the last two weeks. Gutting this studio and making it whole has been job one, and that is done!
I can’t wait to start hanging up on you guys again!
